Since 1997
Riggs Ward Design began in 1997 when Bob Riggs and Brent Ward combined their talents and their belief that exhibitions could be more meaningful, innovative, and deeply engaging. From Richmond, Virginia, they set out to create work that was immersive, carefully crafted, and grounded in the stories people were eager to hear, including narratives that had long been overlooked or underrepresented.
Recognizing a gap in the field, Bob and Brent created a practice that blends spatial design, graphics, casework, and hands-on elements with immersive media such as large-scale video, touchwalls, and gesture-based interactives. This integrated approach ensures that every element of an exhibit works together to tell a cohesive, compelling story.
Since its founding, Riggs Ward Design has partnered with museums, visitor centers, and cultural institutions across the country to create exhibitions and interactive experiences that inform, inspire, and spark curiosity. Our capabilities now include interpretive planning, research, content strategy, storytelling, exhibit design, and media production, all guided by the vision Bob and Brent set in motion.
Rooted in Richmond, the studio has always demonstrated that outstanding design does not require a New York, Boston, or Los Angeles address. Our award-winning work continues to reflect that principle.
